CareA very demanding plant in regards to lighting. To really prosper it needs a nutrient rich substrate, intense lighting and CO2 injection. Given this, it grows rapidly. If needs are not met, leaves will turn black and rot.
Given the size it can reach, it is best used as a solitary background or midground center piece plant. Care must be taken to not let the plant reach the surface of the aquarium as it will form a very different looking floating leaf that will quickly block the light from reaching below.
When trimming, by means of topping, if the lower part of the stem is left it will produce new side shoots.
